After the renovation in 2021, Sorrento reopened its doors as Pizzeria Sorrento.
Italian gelatos, our self-imported wines, artesanal beers and lemonades as well as the authentic Italian atmosphere guarantees that you should book a table at Pizzeria Sorrento even on weekdays.
AVPN & Herman Salvatore
In 2020, Pizzeria Sorrento acquired pizza master Herman Salvatore as its head chef. At that time, the goal was set to obtain the highly regarded AVPN certificate for the pizzeria. The recipe for the dough as well as many other things related to the manufacturing process and raw materials were completely changed, and on 2021, the certificate of authentic Neapolitan pizza issued by AVPN was displayed on the wall of the restaurant.
The certificate in question is a rare treat in Finland. There are only about a thousand AVPN certified pizzerias in the whole world and only 5 in Finland. 3 of them are located in Helsinki and the two others in Kuopio. The fifth certificate belongs to the newest newcomer of Sorrento restaurants, Sfizieria Sorrento, which received it in the summer of 2023.
AVPN certified pizza is a real gourmet pizza, which can be recognized by top-quality ingredients, strong craftmanship, and of course the 450-degree oven, where the pizza gets its panther pattern -- a characteristic of an authentic Neapolitan pizza.
Herman Salvatore
Pizzeria Sorrento sai kansainvälisen sertifikaatin napolilaisesta pizzastaan Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletanalta. Sorrento on Kuopion ainoa sertifioitu ravintola, joka sijaitsee Helsingin ulkopuolella.
